The sand dunes, the starry sky and this fascinating expanse – simply unforgettable
Come with us on the adventure trip South Morocco and dive into a fascinating world of impressive gorges and waterfalls, an ancient culture and the indescribable vastness of the Sahara.
Together with our travel group, consisting of max. 8 adventurers, we set off in Marrakech into the Atlas Mountains, the highest mountain range in North Africa. First we explore the area around the famous waterfalls of Ouzoud. Over the Atlas Mountains we continue to the oasis town of Tinghir, where we dive deeper into the fascinating Berber mountain world. After the impressions we could make in the Atlas mountains, we move on to the cultural centre of the south. In Tamegroute and Zagora we get very close to the people and the millennia-old culture of South Morocco. On the following desert safari we spend the night between the sand dunes of the Moroccan Sahara and enjoy the fabulous starry sky. Via sleepy oases, the medieval village Telouet and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ait Ben Haddou we return to Marrakech, our traditional Riad. In the evening atmosphere we marvel at the hustle and bustle of the jugglers and enjoy our dinner on the world-famous Djemaa el Fna square.
Around 8:30 a.m. our adventure tour South Morocco starts in Marrakech. The journey leads through the impressive Atlas Mountains to the waterfalls of Ouzoud. Together with our guide we explore the area around the waterfalls, where you can often get close to Barbary monkeys. We spend the night in a small hotel in the area.
There is to experience this:
The next morning we continue over the Atlas Mountains to visit the nomads of the mountains. There will also be a traditional lunch together with the mountain nomads. During a short hike to the surrounding gorges you will find enough time to enjoy the scenery. Afterwards we continue through the famous gorge of Todra Gorges to your night quarters in a cosy guesthouse in Tinghir, where we are served delicious local specialities.
This is something to experience:
After breakfast we drive via Alnif (a beautiful market!) and Tazzarine to Zagora. Along the way you will have plenty of time to take a closer look at what the two small towns have to offer. In Zagora we visit the unique Jewish Berber Kasbah and learn more about the multiculture of the tribes that once lived there. We continue to Tamegroute to spend the night in a desert camp between the first dunes of the Sahara, as dinner under the stars of the Sahara tastes even better.
This is what you can experience:
On the 4th day we visit the historical library of Tamegroute with original copies of the Koran from the 12th century, a former place of pilgrimage for the entire Islamic world, as well as the ceramics cooperative, which is known far beyond the region, for its unmistakable green ceramics. Afterwards we continue in the direction of the desert, to a picnic in the sand dunes of Erg Lihoudi, to finally penetrate even deeper into the desert and experience the sunset on the highest sand mountains of the area in Erg Chegaga. In the evening you can enjoy a delicious dinner and a hot shower before lying down in your desert tent.
This is what you can experience:
First we visit a nomad school (only possible on school days) and search for fossils from prehistoric times in the dry lake Iriki. Via Foum Zguid we head towards Taznakht, where you can visit the work of the local feminist carpet cooperative. Afterwards we visit the Kasbah of the famous world cultural heritage Ait Ben Haddou and continue through the heart of the Atlas Mountains and the small town Telouet, with its ancient Kasbah, back to Marrakech for a delicious dinner on the Djemaa el Fna and a night in the classical Riad.
This is what you can experience:
After an extensive breakfast we return to Marrakech. You have the possibility to have us take you to the airport or the train station or to explore the city on your own. If you want to spend a few more days in Marrakech, you have the possibility to contact our tour guide directly or to contact us.

Local accommodations with charm
True to our values and with a view to fair tourism, our accommodations are either local guesthouses or small family-run hotels where hospitality is still a priority. In spite of the local accommodations of our trips, we naturally pay attention to comfort when making our choices.
Those who are used to a European 3-Star-Standard will get along well with our accommodations. There are predominantly no star catagories with us, which results mostly already alone from the remoteness of the accommodations and the kind of the “management”, however we pay attention very much to the fact that you feel well with us. There is a bed, shower, heating and usually also air conditioning and a pool. Not to forget the delicious meals, which are mostly prepared from traditional dishes with ingredients from the neighborhood or your own garden. You are always welcome to stay with us.
The desert camps are designed to be as comfortable as possible in the desert. The attached tents consist of a wooden or clay construction and heavy tent fabric. Carpets are laid out inside. Most tents are lockable and have enough space for equipment and backpacks. Since most tents have an electrical outlet, the smartphone or camera can also be charged. Of course there are also facilities for washing and toilets. Most camps even have hot showers, which is a real luxury in a desert. Many adventurers like to sleep outside because the starry sky of the Sahara is simply unforgettable and the peace and space of the desert offers a good basis for a restful sleep. Before going to bed, you often meet at the campfire, tell stories, make music or exchange ideas. Of course, you don’t have to do without good food in the desert either.
